 James Dawson Powell, also known as Dawson Powell, married Alice Gillus on Sunday, April 9, 1911, in Northampton County, North Carolina. Alice’s parents were Jesse Gillus and Susan Bank-Gillus.  Dawson and Alice would divorce on Monday, December 31, 1951, in Brunswick County, Virginia.  

Robert Lamar Powell, also known as Lamar Powell, married his 1st wife Fannie L. Heartwell on Sunday, November 24, 1912, in Brunswick County, Virginia. Fannie’s parents were W.E. Beasley and Ann Beasley. Robert and Fannie divorced in June 1919, in Brunswick County, Virginia.  Robert later married his 2nd wife, Sallie Cook-Spence.  Sallie’s parents were Holland Cook and Mary Elizabeth “Lizzie” Williams.
